Legendary author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings J. R. R. Tolkien only died in 1973. I know this is probably common knowledge to most people but it was quite surprising to many who had an idea of him in their head that he lived in much less modern times. And yea, Led Zeppelin songs The Battle of Evermore, Misty Mountain Hop, and other are clearly inspired by The Lord of the Rings! Here’s the full thread about this started by gayarsonist:
