Not only abandoned it, but are trying to take it back. There is a movement within the church raising awareness of the rainbow as originally a sign that God will never again destroy the earth with a flood (Genesis 9:9-17), rather than being inherently a gay symbol. Whether it’s a fight worth having, you be the judge.
