And yet, in issuing the letter, this person started a concerted campaign to hunt down and identify all of the alleged sequoia trees planted in this alleged revenge scheme – a costly and time-wasting venture all on its own. Only for the mayor to conclude that none of this was true, and that the council’s time and money had been wasted and he’d been spectacularly played.
So I guess I’d have to say, “Vengeance accomplished!” Whether an actual tree named Clyde was even involved or not is irrelevant at that point; whoever did this got their payback for whatever offended them enough to see them pulling this stunt.
