I have been complimented a number of times for being one of the few people who knows how to use a semicolon correctly.
I definitely agree with the riding in a car with parents being terrifying. So is riding with siblings, your siblings’ grown up kids, friends, taxi/Uber drivers &c. One of the major things that learning to drive teaches you is how awful most people’s driving is.
