The “torture” (in quotes in the original Japanese) is food that the captive princess (the Captain of the Third Order) has never been allowed to enjoy. Captivity that includes monthly medical checkups and the full use of the Demon Castle amenities (onsen, sauna, etc.).

Oh, my goodness! I totally envisioned the Dark Lord as Groo from Despicable Me! I love it. I wish I had the energy to go write a bit for it, but I am currently on bed rest for pneumonia and the above two excerpts made me laugh so hard I went into a coughing fit and now my own personal Nurse Rachet is giving me death glares. She’s insisting I ‘rest”. So, now that she’s administered my pain meds, I guess I will pretend to take a short nap. LOL
