No One is Cancelling Dr. Seuss (or Mr. Potato Head)

No one is cancelling Dr. Seuss.

The media wants you to be angry, that’s why they keep repeating this crap. His estate made the decision on their own, with no pressure from anyone, to pull six books from print out of the over 60 children’s book he had written. Books go out of print all the time. They were not popular books and the did have imagery that was racist and offensive. Why would anyone want to show that to their children anyway? No one is teaching their children about racism and stereotypes using uncommon Dr. Seuss books. Just read your kids the same good old Dr. Seuss books you always have, nothing has changed.

People make mistakes and times change. No one is saying Dr. Seuss was an overall bad person and no one is calling for book burnings or even calling to cancel him or his work. This whole narrative exists in the heads of angry conservatives who are being spoon-fed outrage by the media. In fact his estate is doing the right thing to protect his legacy and allow children to enjoy his work going forward.

If you are mad, you are outraged over nothing. No one is “triggered” except the people raging about “Dr. Seuss being cancelled”.

Also Mr. Potato Head was not cancelled either.

He still exists and is still called Mr. Potato Head and the same goes for Mrs. Potato Head. The company did a small rebrand and again the media blew it up to insane proportions. The brand in now just “Potato Head”, since it includes the whole family of characters that kids can mix and match any way they want.

See? Their names are still on the boxes. Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head are alive and well.

But just to be clear, since people keep talking about the “science” of sex, potatoes are self-pollinators, which means they have the male and female flowers on one plant. LOL, this whole thing is so stupid. I’m not sure why anyone would care so much about the gender of a potato that can store his face in his ass, but here we are.

So again, to reiterate, no one is cancelling Dr. Seuss or Mr. Potato Head. This is a false narrative.

Feel free to passionately argue about this in the comments below, since this seems to affect adults lives so much.
