So to me, actual “cancel culture” is institutions like the government banning things, not private corporations making decisions about their own IP and what they want to sell. This thread by Michael Hobbes is of course in response to conservatives claiming that liberals cancelled Dr. Seuss (which again No One is Cancelling Dr. Seuss, lol). Below are the actual most challenged books in America. You’ll notice a theme: racist caricatures must be protected and LGBTQIA+ content must be banned:
