@SketchesbyBoze tweeted this thread about the crazy sequel to The Hundred and One Dalmatians children’s book by Dodie Smith (which the Disney movie 101 Dalmatians was of course based on) called The Starlight Barking. And the plot of the second book is absolutely insane. Like she says, it is unfilmable, lol. Which is why Disney has made 102 Dalmatians, 101 Dalmatians II: Patch’s London Adventure and Cruella and none of these movies have anything to do with it. Anyway, com along for this journey, it has magical flying dogs, an alien invasion, a team of dog assassins, the prospect of nuclear war, and more:

I read this as a child, and later read it to my own child. It is a lovely story and deserves to be a film. I would recommend anyone, with or without children to read this, and enjoy a good story, at least as good as the 101 Dalmatians.
